Roberto Cavalli’s house took Amazonia as its brief and DAMAC built it on the canal: a swimmable lagoon running through the podium, cascading water down the facade, and a private pool outside every living room.

Cavalli Couture is DAMAC’s Cavalli-branded development on one of the last waterfront plots of the Dubai Water Canal, between Safa Park and Business Bay. Twelve storeys hold three and four-bedroom apartments and five-bedroom duplexes, each with a private infinity pool and terrace garden. The interiors are Cavalli’s own — animal prints, gold, organic forms — and the podium holds the longest swimmable lagoon inside a building in Dubai.

Roberto Cavalli built a house on the wild: animal print, gold, and organic forms that behave like something grown rather than drawn. At Cavalli Couture the brief was Amazonia, and the involvement runs through the building rather than across its signage. The maison shaped the interiors of every residence, the lobby and the podium, and the architecture answers to it — a cascading waterfall down the facade, greenery spilling from each terrace, and a swimmable lagoon threaded through the podium beneath. DAMAC built it; Cavalli decided what it should feel like.
